Summary: Nuri is designed with your privacy in mind. Your baby's data stays on your devices and in your personal iCloud account. We don't have access to your data, and we never sell or share it.
1. Introduction
Nuri ("the App") is a baby tracking application developed by Daniël Houben ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of your family's data. As parents ourselves, we understand the sensitivity of information about your children.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Baby Data You Enter
When you use Nuri, you may enter information about your baby, including:
- Baby profile information (name, date of birth, photo)
- Feeding records (breastfeeding, bottle, solid foods)
- Sleep sessions and patterns
- Diaper changes
- Growth measurements (weight, length, head circumference)
- Health records (temperature, medications)
- Developmental milestones
- Journal entries and photos
- Appointments and reminders
2.2 Technical Data
The App may collect basic technical data for functionality purposes:
- Device type and iOS version
- App version
- Anonymous crash reports (if you opt in via iOS settings)
3. Where Your Data is Stored
Important: All your baby data is stored locally on your device and optionally in your personal iCloud account. We do not have our own servers and cannot access your data.
3.1 Local Storage
Your data is stored directly on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's secure storage mechanisms.
3.2 iCloud Sync
If you have iCloud enabled, your data syncs automatically across your devices using Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services. This sync is:
- End-to-end encrypted by Apple
- Controlled by your personal Apple ID
- Not accessible to us
You can disable iCloud sync at any time in your device's Settings.
4. How We Use Your Data
Since we don't have access to your personal baby data, we don't use it for any purpose. The data is used solely by you within the App to:
- Track and display your baby's activities
- Generate statistics and insights for you
- Compare growth against WHO standards
- Sync across your devices (if iCloud is enabled)
5. Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, or rent your personal data to any third parties because we don't have access to it.
5.1 Third-Party Services
The App uses the following Apple services:
- iCloud/CloudKit: For data sync across your devices
- App Store: For in-app purchases (subscription management)
- Calendar (optional): For appointment sync if you enable this feature
These services are governed by Apple's privacy policy.
6. Subscription & Payments
Nuri+ subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or have access to your payment information. All billing is handled by Apple.
7. Children's Privacy
While Nuri is designed to track information about children, it is intended for use by parents and caregivers, not by children themselves. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Your Rights
Because your data is stored locally and in your own iCloud account, you have full control:
- Access: View all your data directly in the App
- Correction: Edit any data at any time
- Deletion: Delete data from the App, or delete the App entirely
- Export: Your data remains in your iCloud account even after app deletion
8.1 For EU Residents (GDPR)
As your data is stored locally and in your personal iCloud account, you already have direct control over your data. If you have any questions about your rights, please contact us.
9. Data Retention
Your data remains on your device and in your iCloud account until you choose to delete it. If you delete the App:
- Local data on that device is removed
- iCloud data remains in your account until you manually delete it
10. Security
We take data security seriously:
- Data is stored using Apple's secure storage APIs
- iCloud sync uses Apple's encryption
- We don't have servers that could be breached
- No user accounts or passwords to protect (you use your Apple ID)
11. Analytics & Tracking
Nuri does not include any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools. We don't track how you use the App or where you are.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the App or our website. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when changes were made.
